We also offer resources and support to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle, including exercise programs and neurological rehab.

High Velocity, Low Amplitude (HVLA) Joint Manipulation
All joints in the body contain receptors that relay information to the brain about the status of that area. It does so through normal and regular movement. When a joint becomes stiff and does not move properly, the transmission of information about the status of the joint is impaired. Thus, the brain will cause the area to become tight and restricted, until normal movement is restored.
HVLA manipulation involves a quick, targeted thrust applied to a joint that has become restricted or stiff. The movement is high in speed but low in force, meaning it’s delivered rapidly yet gently, without exceeding the joint’s natural anatomical limits.
This technique is often associated with the familiar “pop” or “crack” sound, known as cavitation, which occurs when gas bubbles within the joint fluid are released. While the sound is common, the true benefit lies in the restoration of normal joint motion and reduction of discomfort.
✅ Benefits of HVLA Manipulation
-
Restores mobility: Breaks up restrictions and adhesions in the joint capsule, allowing freer movement.
-
Reduces pain: Stimulates joint receptors that help block pain signals, providing relief.
-
Relaxes muscles: Helps decrease muscle tension and spasms by influencing the nervous system.
-
Improves function: Enhances spinal and extremity biomechanics, supporting better posture and performance.
⚖️ Safety & Expertise
HVLA is a well-researched and widely used chiropractic method that has stood the test of time. When performed by trained professionals, it is considered safe and effective for most patients. At Tier1 Chiropractic, we prioritize your health by tailoring each adjustment to your unique body mechanics and wellness goals.

Interferential (Electronic Stimulation)
Interferential Electro-Therapy is a special type of electrotherapy that penetrates deep into the tissues to increase blood flow, cellular metabolism, range of motion and decrease pain. What makes this equipment special is the way it penetrates deep into the tissues. In order to do this, the interferential current crosses two high frequency currents that intersect and creates a third pattern of low frequency current deep in the tissue. By creating this current, we can get a number of beneficial effects. First, you stimulate large diameter fibers which increase your ability to use your muscles and inhibit nociceptive fibers to decrease pain (releases the body’s natural pain killers). Second, it accelerates the healing process by increasing blood flow to the area to remove metabolic byproducts from damaged tissues. Overall, it reduces painful symptoms, decreases local swelling and restores normal movements.
So instead of just stimulating the joint at the surface level of the skin, like a TENS unit, the interferential current goes deep into the tissues where we cannot reach with our hands. Sometimes what will happen with the current is that the intensity feels like it is dying down. This is called accommodation, when this signal is processed repetitively in your spinal cord and brain. Although the current is running and the nerve is transmitting it, you may not perceive it. Even if it feels like the current is dying down, the same amount of therapeutic electricity is still going through the area the entire duration.

Intersegmental Traction (Roller Bed)
The intersegmental traction table picks up each joint on the spine to put it through a range of movement to start restoring mobility. When the joint is stiff, the ligaments become disorganized. Rhythmic movement starts realigning these fibers so they are stronger and also builds elasticity into the ligaments. In addition, movement between segments stimulates mechanoreceptors in the joint that help us inhibit pain. The discs between the vertebrae do not have blood vessels. They get their nutrition from a process called imbibition. This means that when the vertebrae move, they are pushing fluids out and sucking fluids in. When this doesn’t happen, the discs become desiccated- which means they dry out and degenerate.
This machine is designed to restore normal movement to these fixated areas. By doing that we are rehabilitating these damaged ligaments, restoring flexibility and strength to the ligaments, working to prevent disc deterioration, and helping to manage pain.
This helps with many conditions throughout the body. Below is a list of common conditions this service is used for but not limited to:
-
Pinched Nerves
-
Degenerative Disc Disease
-
Sciatica
-
Herniated Disc

Decompression
Spinal Decompression Therapy creates pain relief through the separation of the vertebrae in your spine. When a bulging or herniated disc slips out of alignment, it may compress nearby nerves. The compression can block the nerves from sending and receiving messages from the central nervous system and brain, leading to chronic pain. Spinal Decompression can allow for a bulging or herniated disc to be drawn back into its central position in the spine. This relieves pressure on the nerves and the surrounding soft tissues. By the reversal of compression in the spine, you get increased circulation which facilitates the flow of nutrients, oxygen and fluids back into the disc. This ultimately helps stimulate the body’s healing mechanism.
This helps with many conditions throughout the body. Below is a list of common conditions this service is used for but not limited to:

Corrective Rehabilitation
It’s more important than ever to take control of your health. Through our education and stepwise programs, it will empower you to self-manage common musculoskeletal issues and start resolving your pain and healing your injuries on your own terms. We provide strategies for dealing with the most common musculoskeletal conditions. Whether the goal is to address a weak link in your body, improve mobility with certain movements or ranges of motion, or strengthen a specific body region. With given protocols being followed diligently, they are the quickest route to recovery. Our unique approach to spinal stability incorporating neurological, balance and movement coordination has been extremely effective in resolving problems as well as minimizing recurrence. If you have a condition that keeps recurring or have chronic pain and irritation call for an appointment.
